Free Health Services
Objectives of the Department of Health, Majlis Ansarullah USA is two-fold—1) promotion of healthy lifestyle through health education 2) free medical services.
Promotion of Healthy lifestyle
Our humble contribution is through providing members with current information on health maintenance, prevention of disease, best disease management, and organizing programs and clinics at regional and national events. Local Majalis strive to follow initiatives provided by the National Ansar Department of Health to bring positive change in members with adopting healthy lifestyle.
Free Medical Helpline
A free medical hotline with a toll-free number was established a few years ago that members can call to seek care. All members of the USA Jama’at have access to this service which is especially beneficial to those who are not covered through some medical insurance program. By the grace of Allah—with very limited resources—we provide the following services.
- In Person or telephone consultation to patients within 24 hours or less
- Our physicians at times go to patient’s homes for consultation and treatment
- Physicians also assist patients to connect them to a Health Care Facility even when they have insurance coverage
- Arrange consultations with specialists via telephone, Skype, office visit, or sometimes in patient’s home
- Second opinion
- Consultation with dentist—both in office and over the phone
By the grace of Allah, we honor calls from anywhere in the world. While bulk of our calls come from USA, we have catered calls from Canada, Pakistan, Australia, and Germany.
We serve about 150-200 calls a year. We also see over 300 patients during regional and national Ijtima’at.
We hope to expand this service as more and more member physicians volunteer for this service.
