
Ijtima Subsidy
Subsidy Guidelines for travel to national Ijtima
Like Annual Jalsa, members are expected to attend Ijtima at their own expense but Majlis continues to support where help is needed and requested.
Following guidelines have been approved by National Amila of Majlis Anṣarullah, USA.
- No subsidy for travel less than 300 miles from Silver Spring, MD.
- No subsidy for hotel accommodation, meals and parking.
- No subsidy for traffic tickets and incidental expenses.
Ansar Ijtima Travel
Members who live more than 300 miles away can request reimbursement for:
Air Travel: 70% of coach class airfare (maximum reimbursement is $250);
Trip insurance, seat upgrade, parking, checked luggage, etc, are not reimbursable.
Road Travel: Anṣar driving in groups of 4 or more—traveling together—can request subsidy at $0.25 per mile (maximum reimbursement is $250). Round-trip mileage between Silver Spring and Majlis can be obtained from mapquest.com.
Rental of car or van requires prior approval. Za‘īm should submit request through Regional Nazim by September 30th. Request should include (1) Estimated cost (2) Names of Anṣar traveling, as well as (3) Arrival and Departure plans. Reimbursement will be 70% of actual expenses; remaining expenses should be shared among passengers.
Shura Delegates
Shura Delegates who live more than 300 miles away can request 100% coach class airfare up to $450 if purchased at least three weeks before departure. Tickets over $450 require pre-approval from Qaid Finance or Sadr Majlis. If traveling by personal automobile , reimbursement rate is $0.25/mile provided at least 2 Ansar travel together and expense is less than a coach class air-fare.
